Daniel HendrixI got an early start in music playing trumpet in my Jr. High School band. I earned first chair in my 7th grade year and won two awards for achievement. I transitioned into the rock scene as a teenager when I helped form a band called Shatter for which I provided vocals. I eventually left Shatter and formed a new band, Dielorielle, where I played guitar and sang as we made our way through the Hollywood circuit.

In time, I returned to college to learn more about music. I studied piano, classical voice with Ben Bollinger, and guitar with Gunnar Eisel. During this time I also took private guitar lessons with Marty Weiner.

I took a hiatus from “the music scene” for several years to pursue various career opportunities. In 2004, in need of something new, I made the move to Northern California. It was here that I began to seek to re-integrate myself into my lifelong passion for music. I found the opportunity to not only re-invigorate my own passion but help to foster that passion in others through teaching. I have been teaching guitar in the Folsom area since 2005 and have provided regular, independent lessons at The Nicholson Music Co. since 2006. I have also had the great pleasure to teach groups of budding guitarists in after-school programs for an El Dorado Hills elementary school.

In my spare time, I play music at The Great Dickens Christmas Fair in San Francisco. I was also a founding member of the local Indie/Alternative band Allons-Y for which I composed songs, performed as a guitarist, and shared vocals. I am currently working with musicians in Pennsylvania, Washington and San Francisco, California on a new musical project.
